... SPOILERS AHEAD...
This trailer gives us many glimpses into some key elements of the story. We get to see the dwarves in the barrels, the elves (including Legolas, Thranduil, and Tauriel), the head of the dragon Smaug, Bard the Bowman, and Bilbo with the spiders.
There are many goblin/orc scenes and many fighting scenes involving elves and so forth, but the things that stood out for me were the following:
1) The coloring of the elves' clothing makes them look a bit CGI.
2) Smaug doesn't look as impressive as I imagined... there's something unfinished about the graphics...maybe it's just me. I am confident, however, that when the movie rolls along he'll be scary enough!
3) Weird Tauriel jump attack is made even more weird when the shot switches to the necromancer (I think) doing the exact same jump attack. You have to watch it to realize how weird it looks.
4) Oh no, not Radagast again!
5) Bilbo with the spider is very well done. Great shot.
6) WTH is Bilbo wearing in his scene with the dragon? ... it looks like Ron's dress-robes.
7) Legolas: "Don't think I won't kill you dwarf!" is the Best. Thing. Ever.
8) Love the music that starts with the Dwarves in the barrels.
Like I said, there's a lot of info we get from this trailer. It seems clear now that the love story is going to be between Tauriel and Legolas. I just really hope they don't overdo it. Just the thought of it is making me very annoyed.
Also, it seems the pale orc is coming back for a significant portion of this movie. We see the head of a warg (another great shot) and it looks like it's going to be an awesome scene.
There's much more to the trailer, but these are the main things that stood out to me. Go watch the trailer yourself and leave a comment about the things that stood out to you!
